PORTUGAL

By: PABLO HERRERA, 2BTO-B
I´m going to show you all the important things in Portugal, that I visited last summer.
I visited a lot of beautiful cities such as LisboN, Estoril, Cascais and Sintra. My favourite city is Lisboa, it is the biggest and the most beautiful. It is very similar to Madrid or Barcelona , but it is older. It has a lot of very beautiful monuments. Other beautiful city is Estoril, it is a port city with a big economic level. And the two most important things of Estoril are the casino and the race circuit.
Cascais is NEAR Estoril ,  and it has very beautiful beaches.
In my opinion, Portugal is one of the most beautiful countrIES in the world. And it has a lot of interesting things to visit.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS

BY ELENA MORENO, 2BTO-A
If you like Pretty Little Liars, you would like to know about this event.
Pretty Little Liars is a BBC programme. It is about five girls but one of them was murdered. These four girls receive messages from an anonymous called "A".
This person threatens them with telling their secrets, but it is mysterious because Alison was the only person who knew their secrets. "A" seems ALSO to be watching their every move.
This series includes two seasons, the second season is more dramatic because a lot of people are murdered, and occasionally it provides information about Alison's deaTH and her murderer.
On 19th October an extra episode will be published. In this episode, while Alison is still alive, the five friends go to a Halloween party. In this video you can see how Alison is attacked by someone. It is really interesting. You mustn't miss it.

PARIS

BY: LUCIA BIENSOBA, 2BTO-C
Last summer I spent my holidays in Paris. We arrived at Beauvais at eight o'clock in the evening. I felt very excited as it was the first time I travelled by plane. Paris is a wonderful city which is visited by millions of people every year and I enjoyed myself a lot. There are some important museums like "Picasso", or "Louvre" but  we just could visit "Louvre".
Walking by the river "Sena" is relaxing but I prefer  a small journey in a boat. As everybody knows, Paris has many interesting monuments. If you go there you must visit "The Eiffel tower". Its gardens are beautiful. I loved them. However, people are not very nice and everything is too expensive. In conclusion, Paris is one of my favourite places and I have happy memories of this city.
From my point of view, it is worth seeing it. Furthermore, you can improve your French.

MARTA'S HOLDING

BY: PAULA MORENO, 2BTO-C

Marta´s HOLDING is a place that isn´t near the centre of the city. It is very far. The way has got stones and it is very uncomfortable. At the entrance there is a big green door.
There are a lot of animals like horses, sheep and other animals. Often in this place, my friends and I celebrate birthdays, parties, barbecues and other special moments. The HOLDING is small and it isn´t very comfortable because there isn´t bed to sleep. There are two sofas but it isn´t important when we want to have a good time.
There is a kitchen, a bathroom and a small room where we keep things. It has a pool where we can swim in the summer.
I like this place because we can make much noise as there are few neighbours.

CAPE VERDE

BY: ESTRELLA GLEZ. SAN NARCISO, 4ESO-D

Cape Verde is a group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
It was an old Portuguese colony, and the islands were desertic and volcanic.
Two summers ago, I travelled to Cape Verde with my family. The first day we stayed in Saly Island. Our hotel was in front of a beautiful beach. The water was warm, very clean and crystalline. The sand was whiter than here. We played volleyball with some black men. At night they danced 'Thriler' and a song by the Morancos. Then we flew to Sant Vicent's Island. There we saw a monkey and my father threw him an apple, and he ate it. The last island was Sant Antao. There we went snorkelling in the sea. It was one of the coolest experiences in my life.

NEW YORK

BY: JAVIER GORDILLO, 2BTO-D
A lot of kilometres from my house is the most beautiful place in the east of America. It´s called New York and people from different parts of the world often go there on holiday.
New York is a very big place where there are a lot of skyscrapers, modern buildings and the best shops. I´m sure that New York is the paradise for women.
What I like about New York IS crowed streets, the buildings, for example the Empire State or the Statue of the libertity. You can also buy very cheap clothes.
The weather is usually good aNd you can walk round the city and see colourful parks where there are high trees.
I think that everyone should visit New York because it´s a very different city.

MALTA

BY: VICTORIA MELGAREJO, 4ESO-B

Malta, is a Southern European country consisting of an archipelago situated in the centre of the Mediterranean.
Malta covers just over 300 km2 in land area, making it one of the world's smallest and most densely populated countries. The capital is Valletta, with a population of 368, The country has two official languages – Maltese and English – with Maltese being considered the national language.
Only the three largest islands – Malta, Gozo and Comino are inhabited. The smaller islands are uninhabited.
The Constitution of Malta declares Roman Catholicism as the state religion although entrenched provisions for the freedom of religion are made. GERMANS IN EL PUERTO

BY: MARÍA EUGENIA ESPEJO, 2BTO-B

Last Monday, a group of German students visited our school. I couldn´t go to the meeting because I was taking a Chemistry exam ,  so I was very sad.
Later, my friends told me they had agreed with the Germans to meet at half past eight in the afternoon AT the bullring to go out with them and visit the down town.
We arrived at the bullring and they were waiting for us. The group of German was formed by nine students I think, two boys and seven girls. After having introduced ourselves we went straight to the Irish pub.
I'm very glad of having gone with them because they are very kind and friendly and we had a lot of fun and I also learnt some words in German.

ROCK CONCERT IN CORDOBA

BY: JOAQUIN DE ORY, 2BTO-D
Last summer in July, the guitar festival of Córdoba took place. It started on the 5th and finished on 16th July.
All the performances were in the "Grand Theatre" and "Axerquia Theatre", where a maximum of 3000 people were allowed.
In this festival participated important rock groups like Andrés Calamaros, Ariel Rot's, ZZ top......and classical guitarrists like Edin Karamazov or David Russell.
I was in the ZZ top concert, which was on 16th July.
It was amazing, they played all the classical tracks like "Gimme me all your lovin", "La Grange".
One of the most important facts was that the theatre was full during the performance. However, in the other performances like Andrés Calamaro or David Russel there were a lot of sites of the Axerquia Theatre free.
I have to say that the lighting effects of the show and the costumes were awesome.
Finally, in my opinion the best performance was ZZ top's.

OXFORD

BY: CELIA BIEDMA, 2BTO-C

The place that I am going to describe is Oxford, because it is my favourite city in England.

The city is old, but at the same time it is a modern one, bEcause there are a lot of studentS there, improving English, that make it busy and younger. I loved walking ALONG its streets and meeting new friends from many countries.
I have visited many places in this country, as London, Stratford Upon Avon, Windsor... But the most beautiful place for me is, without any doubt, Oxford. Maybe, I think like this because people are more friendly than English people in general, or maybe because I stayed there for a long time. I don't know, the only thing that I know is: I love Oxford.

HALLOWEEN

BY: RAQUEL MARTÍNEZ, 2BTO-B

31th of October is Halloween, a celebration very appreciated by young children, who have a great time and eat lots of sweets, candies, chocolates...
Halloween is very popular in the United States of America, but year after year it has been passed on to Spain, but unlike the countries of northern Europe here it isn't very important.
On Halloween children dress of the characters they like. It is typical to see costumes of vampires, ghoSts, Frankensteins, witches...
When children dreSs up, they go out at night and go house to house knocking on doors asking for candies. Here in Spain when someone opens the door the children say " truco o trato", if a person says "trato", that person gives them candies, but if he says "truco", kids throw eggs and toilet paper rolls into the house.
At night, children have a good time with their friends and they return home satisfied with a lot of candies.
