MY SCHOOL, SAFA SAN LUIS

BY: ROCÍO FDEZ DE BOBADILLA, 2BTO-C

My school is a really big school near the city center and next to the bull ring .  IT  is one os the biggest schools IN El Puerto.
I go to my school five days during the week at eight o'clock during six hours. INSIDE the school we can find lots of things, for example a little chapel, a big playground where children usually play different games such us football, basketball, volleyball...It also has a little bar where the pupils usually go to buy their breakfast and also some candies and chips.
In my opinion, I think that Safa is one of the best schools of the town and most of the parents want their children to get into it.

TOLEDO

BY: LUCÍA PUGET, 2BTO-A

Toledo is a province of Spain situAted in the centre of this country. It is an hour from Madrid, the Spanish capital.
Toledo is an old city and it has been influenced by three different cultures: Moslem, Hebrew and Christian. We can find big churches, synagogues, mosques and bridges with interesting stories and legends. This city is surrounded by a river called Tajo, the longest river of the country.
It is considered one of the cities most important in our country. Toledo has been declared "Patrimonio de la humanidad", and many people call it: "The second Rome" .
In my opinion, the best time to visit Toledo is in winter because it snows sometimes, and in Summer it is too hot to walk through the city. At night, it is the moment of the day in which the city is more beautiful. The city is totally lit in the dark night.

ĄAKIHABARA

BY: TOMÁS RAMÍREZ, 2BTO-C

ĄAkihabara is a commercial city of Japan. This city is also called ``electric town´´ because there are many stores specializing in gadgets and electronics things; and it is the ``otaku town´´ (otaku means a person who likes anime and manga) because it has many stores about anime things.
In Akihabara, you will find the biggest shopping center IN the world, Yodobashi Camera. This branch offers one stop shopping for computers, games, watches and cameras, and sells duty free and international models.
There is another shopping center for otakus which is Animate. It is very big and it has figures, DVDs, posters, plushes and a lot of THINGS MORE about anime, manga and videogames. Also, there are Meido Kissas. They are cafés whose waitresses DRESS like maids.
In conclusion, if you like electronic things or anime, you should go.

EL BOSQUE

BY: NURIA DÍAZ, 4ESO-B

El Bosque is a small town. It has a lot of slopes because this town is on a mountain; it has a river, fountains, some shops, two supermarkets, a public swimming pool, some parks and more things but aren’t interesting. Houses there are white, and you can’t paint them with OTHER colours because
this town and others are part of the white towns. In the morning, the sky is cloudy every day but, then it clears and the sun shines brightly. You can walk near the river and go to Grazalema. It is other town. The trip takes about three or four hours.

NEW YORK

BY: JOSÉ ÁNGEL SÁNCHEZ, 2BTO-D

I went there at Christmas four years ago. When I was there, it looked like if I was inside a movie, everything seemed unreal.
I could not stop looking upwards because the buildings were really tall. There are three places which I liked so much.
The first one was Central Park. It is a big park which is located in the middle of the city and it is a few kilometres long. The whole park was in really good conditions and it has got a restaurant, a lake and some baseball courts. You can also see the squirrels eating in the grass!
The second one was the big avenue. There were always a crowd of people, I had never seen that number of people together. During the night it was even more spectacular because everything was illuminated and it was colourful. Another curious thing was SECURITY, there was a policemen couple in each corner of the city.
The last place was the World Trade Center. On the TV you can see a huge place , but you can't realize how big it is if you have not seen it. The zero zone was completely silent. Everyone respected it because of the terrorist attack. There were a lot of pictures about the 11th of September.
In my opinion, it was the best trip I have ever done. New York is one of the biggest, most famous and most fabulous cities in the world and I would like to go back.

THE PLACE WHERE I LIVE

BY: CARLOS BLANCO, 4ESO-B

I´m going to describe where I live. I live in a community of yellow flats. It´s near La Palma, in front of Supersol. This community is divided in nine blocks ,  and in the middle there is a playground where the youngest play. When I was 9 or 10 years old, I usually went down and I passed all the afternoon playing with my friends. We played basketball, football or simply I sat in the floor and spoke with my friends. I have liveD here since 2000. I´ve grown here and I´ll continue getting older here. I have lived a lot of things in this house so I will remember this community for all my life

STEVE JOBS DEAD

BY: NOEMÍ TOUREAU, 2BTO-C

The mega-genius who co-founded Apple has DIED at 56. This man was not a normal person; he was a prodigy and visionary who has made a revolution in technology industry with another way to take photos, to phone or enjoy multimedia (like music, videos, reading, etc...). Probably the life of many people has changed with his innovations; making IT EASIER how to use a computer.
His professional life left its mark on a few popular inventions. The first one is the iMac, a computer very simple and original. Later on, the iPhone renewED the concept of mobility. The Mac Book Air, a notebook very thin with a lot of autonomy. The last invention is the tablet iPad, a new concept very popular now a day.
But he died of respiratory failure caused by his pancreas cancer. And we will remember this important figure forever.

VERONA

BY: LAURA FUREST, 2BTO-A

Last year I went to Italy with the school. There I enjoyed a lot. We visited a lot of cities but the city I liked the most was Verona.
Verona seems to me a romantic city , and to me it’s divided in two parts: historical AREA and commercial AREA.
For example, we saw Giulietta’s house, you walk in and there IS a big courtyard where there is a golden statue of Giulietta. If you look at the top you can see the balcony of Giulietta. There is a shop too, where you can buy whatever you want about Romeo and Giulietta.
In the courtyard there are two stairs, one of them takes you to the roof , where you can see everything from above, and the other stair takes you to the balcony of Giulietta , but you have to pay to go.
And in the city centRE there are a lot of streets with a million stores, and in the middle there is a huge square with a long market where you can buy all types of souvenirs, fruit, clothes…
It’s such a great city!

ALGAR

BY: LORENA OCAÑA, 2BTO-C

Every summer I go to " Algar"  to visit my family and my friends. This is a little town located in the province of Cádiz and I enjoy myself a lot there.
I have chosen this place because I usually spend part of my holidays with my family.
People who live there are old. In this place there are not any natural beaches but everybody go to an artificial beach during the summer.
At weekends they have many festivities in the main square and I enjoy a lot.
On the other hand , I have memories of "Algar" because I used to play with my cousins in the big parks when I was a child.
In conclusion, "Algar" is my favourite place as I have had a very good time with my family for many summers.

SEGOVIA

BY: MARINA GARCÍA, 2BTO-A

Segovia is a little city in Castilla y Leon, Spain. I went to this city the last year with my father and his friends.
It is a peaceful and beautiful place where you can have relax. You can visit a lot of monuments as the " acueducto" which it was built by romans. There are also traditional shops of delicious cakes and chocolate. There are restaurants where you can eat some typical food like "cochinillo" and drink good wine.
It is a wonderful place which you can visit in winter because you see all the little houses and the "acueducto" with snow. This is so beautiful.
I would like to travel to Segovia again for some days to visit the whole city, because I enjoyed it.

MY SCHOOL

BY: CRISTINA CORDONES, 2BTO-C

My school is called Safa San Luis and it's located in Puerto de Santa María. This is a very beautiful building and many important people, as the writer Rafael Alberti, have studied here.
My classroom is one of my favourite places. There are a lot of students, so it's a very large classroom.  It's has forty two deskS and chairs.
Through the big window you can see the children in the playground.  It's funny, but sometimes, we have to close them because they make too much noise. We have two blackboards although we use just one of them.
The hall of my school is an interesting and serious place. The playgrounds have beautiful trees and they are huge and relaxing. We have a snack bar where we can buy sandwiches, juice, sweets and so on.
In conclusion, my school is an interesting place to study and I recommend you to visit it one day.

CORDOBA

BY: CRISTINA RUIZ, 2BTO-C

My favourite place is Cordoba. It´s a city with Roman, Jewish, and Moslem's influences. Cordoba enjoys a notable natural environment in which the mountain stands out with hermitages and sources. The Guadalquivir river is very important in Cordoba. The province has got three natural parks where there is a great variety of fauna and Mediterranean flora.
At Easter, Cordoba´s streets illuminate procession´s parades. The religious environment is very present and it´s an ideal time to think and to live together.
A very important monument is “ The Mezquita”, it´s an Islamic temple. This city, and especially, backyards of  houses are decorated with colourful flowers.
Clearly, my favourite place there is “Plaza de las Tendillas”, where jets of water spring from the ground. It´s fantastic at night!
Next year, I am going to study there because I love this city!

VOLCANO ACTIVITY ON THE ISLAND

BY: DAVID MORALES, 2BTO-D
The little island has been subjected to some little earthquakes which started in the end of September. Those earthquakes made a gap in the techtonic plates and started a volcanic eruption on 10th October.
The National Geographic Institute has registered five low intensity earthquakes, the biggest one has registered 24 degrees , so there is a high possibility for the island to receive another one. Only the town "La Retinga" is on red alert. The five hundred people who live in this town have been moved to the local football stadium, the highest place on the island, to be safe.
As the volcanic risk grows, the island has suffered ninety-three earthquakes, the highest one was 4,3 degrees.
